Valparaiso, IN – the HealthLinc Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Residency Program, sponsored by HealthLinc and headquartered in Valparaiso, Indiana has been granted three years of accreditation by the National Nurse Practitioner Residency & Fellowship Training Consortium.

The National Nurse Practitioner Residency & Fellowship Training Consortium is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body that supports training programs for nurse practitioners and physician assistants.

HealthLinc’s FNP Residency Program was awarded accreditation for demonstrating a clear and ongoing commitment to providing a program of the highest quality with measurable outcomes and accountability that meets national standards for quality and the pursuit of excellence.

“HealthLinc remains committed to providing the highest quality health care to our patients and communities and we developed a family nurse practitioner residency program to help us do just that,” states Beth Wrobel, HealthLinc CEO.  “Having our FNP Residency Program achieve accreditation after just three years is a testament to the hard work done by the HealthLinc training and education staff.”

The HealthLinc FNP Residency Program is designed for new nurse practitioners with a commitment to developing career practices in the challenging setting of community health centers. This residency provides intensive training on both the clinical complexity of family practice and the high-performance Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model.

The HealthLinc FNP Residency Program is the only one of its kind in northern Indiana. The program maintains accreditation for a three-year period and will apply for evaluation again in 2024.

“As a result of this accreditation, HealthLinc became part of the solution to a provider shortage seen throughout the state and country.” continues Wrobel.
