While in school, I was fortunate to be a pharmacy student at HealthLinc for two months and saw the top level of care that the pharmacists and the rest of the team provided the patients. What intrigued me most was how each patient’s circumstances are assessed to create a unique care plan, and each discipline of the healthcare team is involved to best help the patient. In this setting, pharmacists are valued highly within this interprofessional team and are universally used to improve care. These characteristics initially drew me to the pharmacy residency program. The other aspect of HealthLinc, which has been exceptional, is how welcoming the pharmacists and the rest of the staff has been. I feel this is due to the mutual respect that everyone has for one another and because the team is so integrated. I am excited to learn from all the providers at HealthLinc this year and grow my skills to become a better pharmacist.

HealthLinc Valparaiso Pharmacy Resident

The patients and staff at HealthLinc made this program stand out above all the rest. Their emphasis on interprofessional collaboration allows pharmacists to serve patients as an integral part of the healthcare team. Training at this ambulatory care-based residency encourages new and innovative ways to provide the best patient care. I feel incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to serve a diverse patient population under incredible leadership and with supportive pharmacy staff.
