Pharmacy Residency Program
The HealthLinc Pharmacy Residency Program is a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency at HealthLinc, with a heavy focus on ambulatory care for underserved populations.
The HealthLinc Pharmacy Residency Program is a PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency at HealthLinc Community Health Center, with a focus on ambulatory care for underserved populations, including Spanish-speaking populations. Residents have the opportunity to provide chronic disease state management by working under multiple collaborative practice agreements. The residency also partners with Purdue University for the research, business plan and drug information learning experiences and will complete a teaching certificate through the Indiana Pharmacy Teaching Certificate Program (IPTeC).

HealthLinc services include medical, dental, optometry, clinical pharmacy, health insurance enrollment assistance, pediatrics, women’s health, including prenatal care and more.
HealthLinc is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient-Centered Medical Home Level 3. Our collaborative interdisciplinary approach to patient care sets our program apart and raises it to the next level. Besides pharmacy residents, there are other types of learners at HealthLinc, including P4 pharmacy students, nurse practitioner residents and other medical professional students. There are two PGY1 Community Pharmacy positions available; one located in Valparaiso, IN and the other in Mishawaka, IN.

Universal Residency Program Purpose
To build upon the doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.
HealthLinc Residency Program Purpose
Graduates will be able to provide, develop, and manage advanced patient care services to the underserved and underinsured patient population at a Federally Qualified Health Center.

Jonathan Berry – PharmD (Leadership and Self-Improvement)

Dr. Berry currently is the clinical pharmacist at our Knox clinic and spends time in the HealthLinc Rx Pharmacy within the Valparaiso clinic. Additionally, Jonathan is a co-preceptor for the leadership and self-improvement learning experience within the residency program. He started this position after finishing his first year of residency at HealthLinc Valparaiso and wanted to stay due to the amazing relationships he made with patients and the inter-professional collaboration between all care team members at HealthLinc. Diabetes, hypertension and hepatitis C treatment are areas of interest for Jonathan. Beyond work, Jonathan loves to spend time with his family, is an avid movie/tv show watcher and cheers on Purdue sports throughout the year.
Kristen Bessler – PharmD (Business Plan and Quality Improvement)

Dr. Bessler is the clinical pharmacist at HealthLinc Centennial in South Bend, IN. She completed her PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency with HealthLinc/Purdue University in 2019-2020 and was the first pharmacy resident at HealthLinc Mishawaka. Kristen was inspired by HealthLinc’s inter-professional approach to health care, which allows everyone to work at the top of their respective license and work together to provide exceptional health care for their patients. Kristen’s professional areas of interest include diabetes management, nutrition and precepting various learners. During her downtime, Kristen loves to work out, stay active and spend time with family.
Brock Davis – PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM, CDCES (Primary Site Coordinator & Mishawaka Patient Care)

Dr. Davis is the site coordinator for the Mishawaka residency site and serves as the clinical pharmacist lead for HealthLinc. He lives in Granger, IN, with his wife (Cheaney) and sons (Holden and Harrison). He enjoys spending time with family and friends, being a Starbucks enthusiast and cheering on the Purdue Boilermakers.
Brittany Kubal – PharmD (Valparaiso Medication Distribution)

Dr. Kubal is the pharmacy manager at our Valparaiso clinic. She finds great fulfillment in providing services to the patients of our community and loves the amazing staff she works with daily. She lives in Valparaiso with her fiancé (Dan), two dogs (Biff and Brody) and two cats (Jager and Bomber). She enjoys anything outdoors (camping, hiking, wakeboarding and snowboarding), being with friends and family and traveling as much as possible.
Marjie Laciak – PharmD, BC-ADM, CDCES, 340B ACE (Management)

Dr. Laciak is the senior pharmacy manager at HealthLinc. She enjoys her work with the HealthLinc 340B Drug Discount Program and is passionate about providing diabetes education within our clinics. She lives in Porter, IN, with her husband (Geoff), son (Lucas) and daughter (Leightyn). She enjoys running, playing sports and traveling the world with her family.
Henry Papineau – PharmD, BCACP, BC-ADM (Valparaiso Patient Care)

Dr. Papineau is a clinical pharmacist at our Valparaiso clinic. After completing his PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency in 2019-2020 at HealthLinc Valparaiso, Henry served as the clinical pharmacist for our La Porte and Knox clinics before returning to Valparaiso. Henry entered the residency with a strong interest in ambulatory care, teaching, professional development and the interdisciplinary care opportunities that HealthLinc’s residency program has to offer. The personal relationships developed with patients, the caring nature of HealthLinc employees and the strong team dynamic of the pharmacists made a lasting impression on Henry.
Monica Rivers – PharmD, MBA (Mishawaka Medication Distribution)

Dr. Rivers is the pharmacy manager at our Mishawaka clinic. She is passionate about providing great patient care and motivating patients to take responsibility for their overall health care. She lives in Granger, IN, with her husband (Nathan) and five children (Collin, Carter, Creedon, Corbin and Cora). She enjoys being as active as possible with her family and all aspects of home décor: refurbishing, building, staging, you name it.
Elizabeth Roy – PharmD, BC-ADM, CDCES (Leadership and Self-Improvement)

Dr. Roy is the clinical pharmacist at our Michigan City clinic and has been with HealthLinc since 2018. Her clinical interests include diabetes, hepatitis C and tobacco cessation, as well as precepting the HealthLinc Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program. She lives in Chesterton, IN, with her husband (Danny) and son (Teddy) and enjoys traveling and cheering on the Chicago Bears and Purdue Boilermakers.
Amy Heck Sheehan – BS, PharmD (Drug Information)

Dr. Sheehan is a professor of pharmacy practice at Purdue University and a drug information specialist with Indiana University Health. She enjoys working with students, residents and fellows and is passionate about medical literature evaluation. She lives in Indianapolis, IN, with her husband (Kevin), son (Nick) and daughter (Emma). She enjoys reading, playing sand volleyball and traveling the world with her family.
Jessica Sinclair – PharmD, MATS, BC-ADM (Teaching)

Dr. Sinclair is a clinical pharmacist at our East Chicago clinic. She has a passion for diabetes management, enjoys precepting residents and students and is getting better at learning Spanish to help assist her patients. If there is one thing to note about Jessica is that she is obsessed with pizza, but only pepperoni! Jessica also loves taking her dog (Pete) on walks and is a new mom who is having so much fun being a parent! She lives in northwest Indiana with her husband (Noah).
Margie Snyder – PharmD, MPH, FCCP, FAPhA (Project Management)

Dr. Snyder is a professor at the Purdue College of Pharmacy and the preceptor for the project management learning experience. She genuinely enjoys helping others develop skills and confidence in research. She lives in Indianapolis, IN with her husband (Zack) and children (Violet and Victor). She enjoys running and staying active, traveling and trying new restaurants.

Dr. Valpatic is the clinical pharmacist at our Mishawaka clinic after completing her PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency in 2020-2021 with Advocate Aurora Health. She lives in South Bend, IN, with her fiancé (Mitchell). Her interests include diabetes management, smoking cessation and contraceptive counseling. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, camping and traveling.

Dr. Papineau is currently serving as the Clinical Pharmacist at our La Porte and Knox clinics after completing his PGY1 Community Pharmacy Residency in 2019-2020 with HealthLinc in Valparaiso. Henry entered the residency with a strong interest in the ambulatory care, teaching, professional development, and interdisciplinary care opportunities that HealthLinc’s residency program had to offer. The personal relationships developed with patients, caring nature of HealthLinc employees, and strong team dynamic of the pharmacists made a lasting impression on Henry. Henry’s professional areas of interested include ambulatory care, pharmacy education, and expansion of pharmacy practice. Outside of work, Henry spends his time playing guitar, fishing, going for walks, and watching movies.

She completed her PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency with HealthLinc/Purdue University in 2019-2020 and was the first pharmacy resident at the Mishawaka HealthLinc location. Kristen was inspired by HealthLinc’s inter-professional approach to health care which allows everyone to work at the top of their respective license and work together to provide exceptional health care for their patients. Kristen’s professional areas of interests include diabetes management, nutrition, and precepting various learners. During her down time, Kristen loves to cheer on the Chicago Blackhawks, stay active and craft!

Dr. Sundh is currently serving as the Clinical Pharmacist at our South Bend Centennial clinic after completing his PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency in 2018-2019 with HealthLinc. Mark was initially interested in the diverse learning experiences in ambulatory care, community-based pharmacy practice, teaching, research, leadership and management offered by the HealthLinc Pharmacy Residency Program, but it was the patient-focused culture of collaboration and care that made the program truly stand out to him. Mark’s professional areas of interest include diabetes management, healthcare and diabetes technologies, and pharmacy advocacy. Outside of clinic, Mark enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, and is passionate about his Chicago sports teams, especially the Chicago Cubs.
Jessica Sinclair White – PharmD, MATS

Dr. Sinclair serves as a clinical pharmacist post-residency at the East Chicago clinic, serving the Lake County community. She had her second APPE rotation at HealthLinc Vaparaiso as a student, and that’s where she fell in love with HealthLinc and what it offers. Jessica loved the atmosphere and the relationships that she was able to create with her co-workers and her patients. Her area of interests includes patient education, diabetes management, substance use disorder, and pharmacy student/resident precepting. During her downtime, Jessica LOVES to play games, watch the Cubs, hangout with friends and her husband, and eat pizza! She just got a new puppy, named Pete!

Dr. Davis is currently serving as the Clinical Pharmacist at our Mishawaka clinic location after completing his PGY1 Community Pharmacy residency in 2017-2018 with HealthLinc. He was interested in this residency program due to its wealth of ambulatory care clinic hours, affiliation with other community pharmacy residencies through the Purdue College of Pharmacy, and the community pharmacy experience as well. His area of interests includes diabetes management, substance use disorder, and pharmacy student/resident education. Outside of his work responsibilities, Brock is an avid Purdue sports fan, enjoys playing the piano, and spending time with his wife Cheaney, and sons Holden and Harrison.
