HealthLinc and Heart City Health today announced plans to merge, creating a stronger organization dedicated to improving access to high-quality health care in Elkhart County.
The merger, which will become official subject to regulatory approvals this fall, will bring together two organizations with a shared commitment to serving patients regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
“By bringing our organizations together, we are expanding access to care, strengthening services and ensuring more individuals and families receive the care they need close to home,” said Melissa Mitchell, CEO of HealthLinc.
Once combined, HealthLinc will operate 18 clinics in nine communities across northern Indiana, serving more than 73,400 individuals each year. Patients will have access to primary medical, dental, optometry, behavioral health, pharmacy and more. As the cost of living continues to rise, access to affordable, high-quality services like these is more important than ever.
Patient care will remain uninterrupted throughout the transition, with existing appointments, providers and services remaining in place as the organizations work through the merging process.
“This partnership is about more than growth; it’s about transformation,” said LaLaesha Black, CEO of Heart City Health. “By aligning our strengths with HealthLinc, we are creating a stronger, more resilient system of care that will meet the evolving needs of Elkhart for years to come.”
Additional details will be available at a later date. For questions regarding the merger, please contact Brandi Anstine, HealthLinc’s chief external relations officer, at banstine@healthlincchc.org.
