LA PORTE, IN —HealthLinc, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) with corporate headquarters in Valparaiso, IN officially assumed operations of La Porte Community Health Center and Dental Clinic located at 400 Teegarden St. in La Porte, IN on Tuesday, September 3.

For over twenty years, HealthLinc has demonstrated a commitment to their patients and communities and will continue that tradition at HealthLinc La Porte.   HealthLinc La Porte is offering the same high-quality, board-certified providers and caring staff that the patients are used to seeing at La Porte Community Health Center and Dental Clinic.   In addition, HealthLinc can reach more people with an even greater number of services, which includes behavioral health, a Medically Assisted Treatment program for substance use disorder, legal advice, a clinical pharmacist, community outreach coordinators, and a 340B prescription drug program, which offers significantly reduced-price medications.

“This is an important time for HealthLinc as we continue to expand access to exceptional medical and dental care across Northern Indiana,” states Beth Wrobel, HealthLinc CEO.  “We are excited to bring our comprehensive line of services that will positively impact our patients and the community.”

The opening of HealthLinc La Porte represents the third clinic HealthLinc has opened in 2019 extending their reach from East Chicago to Mishawaka and Michigan City to Knox with a total of eleven clinics, two telehealth clinics and one mobile clinic.

HealthLinc, Inc. (healthlincchc.org) is a not-for-profit Federally Qualified Health Center that provides primary medical, dental, optometry, and behavioral health services to people of all ages regardless of a patient’s ability to pay. In 1996, HealthLinc began as Hilltop Neighborhood House, a neighborhood clinic and childcare center in Valparaiso, IN. Since then, HealthLinc has expanded to eleven clinics, two telehealth clinics, and one mobile medical/dental clinic. HealthLinc accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), most commercial insurance plans, and provides care for uninsured patients. Services will be provided on a sliding fee scale based on household size and income, regardless of a patient’s insurance status.

HealthLinc accepts Medicare, Medicaid, Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP), most commercial insurance plans, and uninsured patients on a sliding fee scale based on household income.
