Joan Bondi serves as the chief financial officer at HealthLinc, where she oversees all aspects of the organization’s financial operations. She is committed to balancing fiscal responsibility with HealthLinc’s mission of providing high-quality, accessible care to underserved communities. Through thoughtful financial leadership, Joan has helped expand patient services, invest in advanced medical and technology solutions such as telemedicine and support the growth of new service lines, including optometry, podiatry and chiropractic care. With a deep understanding of the unique financial and regulatory challenges facing community health centers, Joan ensures HealthLinc remains financially strong while advancing its mission of creating healthier communities.
Lisa Budka, Family Nurse Practitioner/Family Nurse Practitioner Residency Program Director, Valparaiso
Lisa Budka, MSN, FNP-C, is a family nurse practitioner with over 20 years of healthcare experience and currently serves as the FNP residency program director at HealthLinc in northern Indiana.
Lisa has rooted her practice, teaching philosophy and leadership style in the lived experiences of being raised in an agricultural community, overcoming the vulnerability of poverty and learning from the formative lessons of teenage motherhood. She chooses to lead with grace, gratitude and respect, bringing a genuine desire to understand and engage everyone she encounters—whether residents, patients, colleagues or fellow leaders. This approach has shaped more than a decade of meaningful, purpose-driven work in postgraduate residency training.
Lisa has presented at the Consortium of Advanced Practice Providers on emotional intelligence and quality improvement in postgraduate training and at CAPNI on residency development. She has also led residents to the Indiana Statehouse for Advocacy Day and continues to advance truly interdisciplinary postgraduate training through intentional collaboration.
Dr. J. Douglas Busch, Chiropractor, Mishawaka
Dr. Busch is a chronic pain specialist with over 30 years of clinical experience. He is focused on helping patients reduce or eliminate symptoms that are causing pain. Dr. Busch has been one of the most sought-after professors at Colorado State University-Pueblo and Bethel University, drawing crowds of over a thousand at corporate and faith-based events. He is an instrument-rated pilot, skilled percussionist and accomplished entrepreneur. He’s shown his love and commitment to health care in every new adventure. Through the challenges of running highly successful businesses and family, civic, music and university obligations and pressures, he’s found fulfillment in the chaos of life. His passion is in helping you bring these pressures into balance, so you cannot just live, but thrive.
Amy Chandler, Director of Public Policy and Communications, Covering Kids & Families of Indiana
Amy joined Covering Kids & Families of Indiana in 2023. She serves as director of public policy and communications with a focus on distilling policy into understandable content. She is the editor of the biweekly newsletter, News & Views, and hosts the annual State of Coverage Policy Summit.
Passionate about public policy, she is dedicated to demystifying the legislative process so more people can be involved. This leads, in her humble opinion, to better public policy.
Amy holds master’s degrees in social work and public affairs, both from Indiana University. Before joining CKF-IN, Amy worked at the Indiana Community Action Poverty Institute doing community outreach and policy analysis.
Brock Davis, Director of Pharmacy, Corporate
Brock joined HealthLinc in 2017 as one of its first pharmacy residents. He is board-certified in Ambulatory Care and Advanced Diabetes Management and supports the pharmacy department in delivering patient care across four community pharmacy locations, a team of 11 clinical pharmacists and a PGY-1 Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program. Brock has also served on the Board of Directors for the Indiana Pharmacists Association and was honored with the 2026 Outstanding Early Career Award from the Purdue University College of Pharmacy. He was also named a Mary Beth Witcher Patient Advocate in 2019 and a HealthLinc Hero in 2025.
Yuriko de la Cruz, Deputy Director of Grassroots Organizing at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)
Yuriko leads efforts to use storytelling, relationship building and strategy to increase the number of advocates and their engagement to address health center priorities at the local, state and federal levels. She brings extensive expertise in addressing non-medical drivers of health, cross-sectoral community engagement and facilitation; continuous quality improvement; population health; and human-centered design. She is passionate about volunteering and proudly serves as a board member of three non-profit organizations. Yuriko completed her undergraduate degree in Public Health from West Chester University and her Master of Public Health from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
Nathan Dolan, Chief Operating Officer, Corporate
Nathan provides executive oversight for the operational performance of HealthLinc’s clinics, partnering with clinic management to ensure the successful execution of organizational strategies and annual goals. His responsibilities extend beyond supporting clinic operations to overseeing the quality, efficiency and patient experience across the organization. He is responsible for ensuring the health center meets the clinical quality measures, regulatory requirements and operational standards expected of a federally qualified health center (FQHC), while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional patient care. Nathan is heavily involved in the community and enjoys volunteering.
Angie Garner, Site Operations Director, Knox and Newton
Angie Garner serves as the site operations director for HealthLinc’s Knox and Newton clinics. During her 18 years with HealthLinc, she has served in a variety of leadership roles in both clinical and operations, dedicated to improving patient care, supporting staff and strengthening operations. Angie brings more than 30 years of Emergency Medical Services experience, with a career that began in fire and rescue services. She continues to serve her community as a volunteer with the Bass Lake Fire Department and has been an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) for more than three decades. She remains actively engaged in advancing her EMS and Emergency Management knowledge through ongoing education and training.
An American Heart Association CPR Instructor for over 25 years, Angie is passionate about emergency preparedness and enjoys teaching practical, lifesaving skills.
Dr. Courtney Glos, Pediatrician/Site Medical Director, Michigan City
Dr. Glos specializes in the care of infants, children, teens and young adults. As a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, she follows evidence-based guidelines to monitor growth and development, prevent illness and treat both acute and chronic conditions. She is passionate about helping families feel confident and informed as they navigate every stage of childhood, from a baby’s first milestones through the transition to adulthood. She also believes in the power of early childhood literacy and play to support healthy development.
A Northwest Indiana native, Dr. Glos is excited to be back home caring for the community where she grew up. She completed her undergraduate and medical education in Indianapolis before finishing her pediatric residency in Iowa City. During residency, she was recognized as Teacher of the Year each year and was honored as Resident/Fellow of the Year by medical students at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She brings that same commitment to education into every patient visit, partnering with families to provide compassionate, high-quality care.
Katherine Johnston, Director of Nursing, Corporate
Katherine provides strategic leadership for nursing and clinical support services, overseeing medical assistant supervisors, medical assistants and care team nurses to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. A servant leader with extensive clinical and operational experience, she is committed to improving patient outcomes, strengthening employee engagement and advancing innovative care.
She reduced vaccine wastage from more than 20% to less than 1%, led HealthLinc to become a statewide leader in COVID-19 testing and vaccinations and guided the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program to earn the Indiana BCCP Champion Award in 2024 and 2025. Katherine also implemented AccuVax and AccuShelf to improve vaccine security and inventory management, developed the Medical Assistant Ladder 2.0 and 3.0 career pathways and helped implement chronic care management, Medicare annual wellness visits and remote patient monitoring. Outside of work, she advocates for underserved communities, cares for her many animals and enjoys spending time with her family.
Dr. Michael Kozak, Family Medicine Physician/Assistant Chief Medical Officer/Site Medical Director, Corporate, IUSB and Southeast
Dr. Kozak is a member of the HealthLinc leadership team, and an experienced, trusted healthcare provider committed to improving the health of underserved communities. He has extensive experience managing chronic diseases, including hypertension and diabetes, and has a special interest in addiction medicine, HIV and hepatitis C treatment.
Dr. Kozak is board-certified in family medicine and addiction medicine and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians (FAAFP) and the American Society of Addiction Medicine (FASAM). In addition to his clinical leadership at HealthLinc, he serves on the Beacon Medical Group Board of Directors and consults with HealthLinc’s behavioral health team on substance use treatment. He also collaborates closely with Greenway Health on electronic health record optimization and artificial intelligence initiatives.
Passionate about developing the next generation of healthcare providers, Dr. Kozak volunteers as a faculty educator with both the Beacon Family Medicine Residency and HealthLinc’s residency programs.
Brittany Kubal, Assistant Pharmacy Director, Corporate
Britanny joined HealthLinc in 2019 as a clinical pharmacist at the Valparaiso and Knox clinics and became the pharmacy manager when the Valparaiso HealthLinc Community Pharmacy opened. She is working towards her Apexus Certified Expert (ACE) certification for the 340B Drug Pricing Program. She enjoys collaborating with other departments throughout the organization to best serve the needs of the patients. Brittany volunteers in youth sports as a coach for both the YMCA and Morgan Township Little League.
Brittany holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Indiana University and a Doctor of Pharmacy from Purdue University.
Dr. Amanda Mathews, Family Medicine Physician, Valparaiso
Dr. Mathews helped establish the Family Medicine Residency Program in Valparaiso and now serves as its associate program director. She is passionate about teaching and mentoring the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Her clinical interests include improving the physical health of patients living with chronic mental illness through the integration of primary care and behavioral health services. Dr. Mathews has advanced training in hepatitis C treatment and works alongside pharmacists as part of a multidisciplinary team to help patients achieve successful outcomes.
Committed to building strong, lasting relationships with her patients, Dr. Mathews believes that working together is the foundation for achieving better health and improving overall well-being.
Dr. Lawrence Ramunno, Chief Medical Officer, Corporate
Dr. Ramunno has over 34 years of experience as a practicing physician, in organizational leadership and academia. He has worked at prestigious institutions such as Johns Hopkins, Beth Israel Deaconess and most recently was CMO for an FQHC in Chicago. Dr. Ramunno is board-certified in family medicine and geriatrics and licensed in the states of Indiana, Illinois and New Hampshire. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and the American College of Physician Executives and has extensive board and committee appointments. He has published over two dozen articles in medical and health publications.

With more than 13 years of experience in infection prevention and control, Joe Smallidge specializes in sterile processing solutions for the medical and dental markets. As a DISIPC and CCSVP certified professional, Joe is committed to advancing sterilization best practices through practical, evidence-based education.
Joe partners with healthcare facilities and dental practices to provide educational sessions focused on optimizing sterilization workflows, enhancing regulatory compliance, and improving patient safety. His collaborative approach guides teams through each step of their current sterilization process, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, strengthen compliance, and maximize the performance and value of the products they use every day.

Dr. Betsy Sutherland, Family Medicine Physician/Site Medical Director, Centennial
Dr. Sutherland is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care for the entire family. As a former teacher, she believes every physician visit should be educational, collaborative and tailored to each patient’s unique needs. She takes time to understand a patient’s history, helping them overcome challenges, achieve their health goals and build a healthier future. Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, women’s health, child development, refugee health and caring for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Dr. Sutherland is committed to caring for vulnerable populations through street medicine, refugee care, newborn rounds at Memorial Hospital and research on caring for patients affected by human trafficking and sex work. She also teaches Indiana University medical students, Memorial Hospital family medicine residents and HealthLinc family nurse practitioner residents, while serving on HealthLinc’s Quality and Peer Review Committees and the board of the New Day Intake Center, a low-barrier housing initiative supporting people experiencing homelessness in the South Bend community.
Sandra Vasquez, Medical Assistant II, Centennial
Sandra is a vital member of the healthcare team at Centennial. She works closely with providers and other team members to support patients throughout their healthcare journey by preparing for visits, gathering accurate clinical information, coordinating care needs and assisting with preventive health services. Sandra also helps improve communication, enhance patient flow and contribute to a positive healthcare experience while supporting the delivery of efficient, effective care.
