HealthLinc is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient-Centered Medical Home Level 3, where there is a multi-disciplinary approach to patients. Besides pharmacy residents, there are nurse practitioner residents and P4 pharmacy students on site. The pharmacy resident has the opportunity to work under collaborate practice agreements with multiple disease states. A mental health rotation can be set up if the resident has an interest. The resident completes teaching certificate requirements at Purdue University.
The HealthLinc Pharmacy Residency Program is a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency with a focus in ambulatory care. The resident will be exposed to direct patient care with diabetes, anticoagulation, dyslipidemia, and hypertension being the primary disease states encountered. The medication distribution learning experience is completed at HealthLinc in-house pharmacies. The residency partners with Purdue University for the teaching, research, and drug information components.
Universal Residency Program Purpose
To build upon the doctor of pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to develop community-based pharmacist practitioners with diverse patient care, leadership, and education skills who are eligible to pursue advanced training opportunities including postgraduate year two (PGY2) residencies and professional certifications.
HealthLinc Residency Program Purpose
Graduates will be able to provide, develop, and manage advanced patient care services to the underserved and underinsured patient population at a Federally Qualified Health Center.

One of the main reasons I chose HealthLinc was because of the people, and I have not been disappointed. As a pharmacy resident, I was immediately, and fully accepted as an important member of the health care team. HealthLinc values every single employee, including the clinical pharmacist and has created a culture where people are important and used to their fullest potential. The staff not only values one another, but that culture is passed along to the patients. This is truly a place where the patient matters.
