HealthLinc is a Federally Qualified Health Center and Patient-Centered Medical Home Level 3, where there is a multi-disciplinary approach to patients. Besides pharmacy residents, there are nurse practitioner residents and P4 pharmacy students on site. The pharmacy resident has the opportunity to work under collaborative practice agreements with multiple disease states. A mental health rotation can be set up if the resident has an interest. The resident completes teaching certificate requirements at Purdue University.

The HealthLinc Pharmacy Residency Program is a PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency with a focus in ambulatory care. The resident will be exposed to direct patient care with diabetes, anticoagulation, dyslipidemia, and hypertension being the primary disease states encountered. “As a pharmacy student, I was lucky enough to spend three months at HealthLinc, which is what originally drew me to the pharmacy residency program. During my time as a student, I was a first-hand witness to the exceptional, patient-centered care that all employees and staff members provide. Every single patient is treated with the utmost respect and highest level of care which was even more evident upon my first week as a pharmacy resident. Additionally, since becoming a resident, there is an obvious sense of teamwork between all disciplines of the healthcare team that is unmatched compared to other programs. Within this interprofessional team, pharmacists are valued highly and treated at the same level as any other provider. However, the one aspect of HealthLinc that separates itself apart is the amazing team of pharmacists that I have the pleasure of working with every day. I have never been a part of a team where I am valued this highly and feel supported in everything I do, especially given the strenuous work and challenges that come along with the residency. I truly feel like I could not be in a better learning environment and am excited to see what opportunities the next year brings to me.”

Jonathan Berry

HealthLinc Valparaiso Pharmacy Resident

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to complete my residency here at HealthLinc! I was incredibly drawn to the organization’s emphasis on living out their values daily along with the trust that is placed in the pharmacy team. This ambulatory-care based residency allows you to practice at the top of your license, find innovative roles for pharmacists, and have a direct impact on others daily. I felt immediately welcomed and supported by the entire pharmacy staff from the moment I joined the team. The team places a strong emphasis on providing the best care to every patient along with challenging you to be the best pharmacist you can be.”

Michelle Adgalanis

HealthLinc Mishawaka Pharmacy Resident

"Great employees, nice, clean environment. Love it when they find ways to help those with low or no income. Every little bit helps so much and they sometimes have contests or promotions to help you help yourself. I am entered to win a Kindle because I had a PAP done. How awesome is that?"

"My doctor is wonderful. He takes his time and I never feel rushed. I am always in the room on time and out within a reasonable time."

"First time and I was absolutely impressed. Had a dental emergency and no insurance. HealthLinc went above and beyond my expectations. Ended up having 5 teeth pulled that have been bothering me for years. No other dentist would even touch them because I had no dental insurance. I can honestly say I was very impressed and thankful to finally have decent care at a decent price."

"I love HealthLinc! Service is always fast and friendly. Nurses and doctors are wonderful! I refer HealthLinc to all my friends!"

"Comfortable atmosphere, sliding scale payments with good physicians that care. They truly care about the patients and go above and beyond to help. I went to HealthLinc before having insurance, but still go here now that I do because I enjoy them that much. I would recommend to anyone seeking general medical help."

"I have had nothing but caring doctors and dentist here for my child. On her first dentist apt. they were very understanding and patient with my child who was afraid and comforted her very well. The doctor was amazing and I'm happy she's my daughter's new family physician."

"When we lost our health insurance I panicked, but a HealthLinc Navigator was there to help. She held my hand through the entire process and made sure I was taken care of. In a time of such uncertainty, she made me feel confident that we would be OK. "
