Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Program

In 2026, HealthLinc will launch its AEGD Program to provide new dental providers with comprehensive training on the clinical complexities of general dentistry. This program will help residents build confidence, refine their skills, develop expertise and build their careers in the dynamic environment of a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC).

HealthLinc’s AEGD Program will provide intensive training in general dentistry in a safety net setting and on a high-performance, Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model for primary care. The program is designed for new dentists who are committed to practicing careers in the challenging setting of community health centers.  

HealthLinc’s AEGD program consists of 54 weeks of full-time employment at HealthLinc.

During the program, residents will participate in: 

  • Precepted patient encounters 
  • Rotations 
  • Mentored, independent clinics 
  • Didactic sessions with colleagues 
  • 20 PTO days 
  • Paid holidays (3 floating)
  • Eligible for health insurance after 60 days
  • Paid membership to applicable professional organizations
  • Reimbursement for conference/travel
  • Professional diploma (DMD, DDS)
  • Recent graduate from an accredited DMD or DDS program
  • Must be willing to relocate to, or be within reasonable distance of Michigan City, Indiana
  • COVID-19 vaccination or a medical or religious exemption

HealthLinc’s AEGD Program will begin June 28, 2027. Applications are due March 12, 2027. Please watch the website for when the application process will open.

Required documents include:

  • CV with month and year for work and education history sections; if applicable, written and signed explanation of any gaps in work history over three months
  • Copy of driver’s license
  • Professional diploma (DMD or DDS)
  • Federal DEA certificate
  • Copy of license(s) from Indiana and Letter of Good Standing
  • Copy of Regional Exam Results
  • Copy of National Dental Exam Results
  • Three signed letters of recommendation
