HealthLinc is excited to announce that they were recently awarded $154,346 in grant funds from United Way of Northwest Indiana and Indiana United Ways. This funding was made possible due to United Way’s partnership with the Lilly Endowment, Inc. for use in the fight against COVID-19. HealthLinc utilized the funding to purchase state-of-the-art vaccine management systems and personal protective equipment (PPE) for their East Chicago and East Chicago Harbor clinics.

Since January 2021, HealthLinc has administered over 70,000 vaccines. The new vaccine management systems will improve vaccine storage and temperature control and streamline workflow to enable greater accuracy with inventory control and a higher level of patient service.

“We are so grateful to the United Way of Northwest Indiana, Indiana United Ways and the Lilly Endowment for this generous grant,” states Beth Wrobel, HealthLinc CEO. “The HealthLinc clinics have been working non-stop since the start of 2021, to vaccinate as many people as possible and this grant allows us to be more efficient and effective in this continuing effort.”

In addition to the vaccine machines, the grant will also be used to purchase PPE and further support HealthLinc’s efforts to test and vaccinate the Lake County community.
