HealthLinc CEO, Beth Wrobel has been the recipient of three prestigious healthcare awards in the past few months. On August 1, she received the 2022 Marc Wetherhorn National Advocate of the Year award from the Association of Clinicians for the Underserved (ACU). The award is given to an individual who has helped to improve policies and systems that impact the health of marginalized populations. Since taking the helm in 2002, Wrobel transitioned HealthLinc from a free medical clinic to an FQHC providing integrated care, giving under-resourced patients a voice, and improving their access to quality health care. Beth was presented with the award during the 2022 Annual Conference “Resilience &Transformation in Care,” in Washington, D.C.

On September 22, she was recognized by the Wellness Council of Indiana (WCI) as the 2022 Hoosier Health and Well-Being Workplace Champion for her significant contributions to the health and well-being of HealthLinc’s staff. Under Beth’s leadership, HealthLinc added wellness time off for preventative health care, volunteer time off so staff can support causes important to them and an additional floating holiday to celebrate personally important occasions that are not on the organization’s time-off calendar. Creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued, providing opportunities for staff to express their thoughts on the direction and the future of HealthLinc, participating in company-wide wellness activities, highlighting staff accomplishments and regular and transparent communication are some of the reasons she received this award.

On September 23, Wrobel received the State Health Commissioner Award for Excellence in Public Health for advancing the health of Hoosiers over her twenty-plus years with HealthLinc. Dr. Kristina Box, Indiana State Health Commissioner, surprised her with the award during a presentation to the entire staff at the annual HealthLinc conference.

“These recognitions are because of the remarkable staff I am honored to lead,” states Wrobel. “Their hard work and dedication to our mission to create healthy communities and their unending compassion allows HealthLinc to make a positive impact on those who need our services the most. I am grateful for their commitment and share these awards with them.”
