Kari Evans, DNP, RN, FNP-BC
Kari Evans has a Doctorate of Nursing Practice from Valparaiso University and is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She is highly skilled and dedicated with more than 20 years of extensive nursing experience in emergency care, critical care, pediatric care and educating staff. Kari also holds an array of certifications including ENPC, TNCC, ACLS, BLS, ECRN, and CEN.
Amanda Mathews, MD
Amanda Mathews, MD, pursued her undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago and ultimately received her Doctorate from University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Later, Dr. Mathews completed her residency at Ventura Family Medicine Residency in California. She has been awarded with several distinctions throughout her educational career and she is a frequent volunteer to the community.
Jennifer Maya, MD
Site Medical Director
Jennifer M. Maya, MD, is a practicing Family Physician for HealthLinc and the Site Medical Director for our Valparaiso clinic. She graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed her Family Medicine Residency at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in South Bend, Indiana as Chief Resident.
Lisa Nelson, FNP, RN
Lisa Nelson, FNP, RN, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at HealthLinc. She is board-certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and Basic Life Support. Lisa obtained her Associate and Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing from Purdue North Central and went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing from Purdue University Calumet shortly thereafter. While pursuing her undergraduate education, she began working at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, working first as a Clinical Associate and then moving to Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery. While working towards her Master’s degree, she was a Clinical Instructor for Purdue North Central.
Leah Osorio, MD
Leah Osorio, MD is a Family Medicine physician at the Valparaiso Clinic. She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota (Summa Cum Laude with Distinction) and Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Dr. Osorio did her residency at United Family Medicine in Minnesota where she was also Chief Resident. She has also completed the United Family Medicine Fourth Year of Mastery program in integrative medicine and development of group care model for diabetes management. Her professional interest lies in working with underserved, diverse patient populations. She is especially interested in integrative medicine and nutrition, group care models for chronic disease management, pre-natal care, preventative health, maternal and child health, adolescent medicine, homeless medicine, geriatrics, and mental health. Dr. Osorio has an extensive background in research, is a sought after presenter at medical conferences, and is an active volunteer for several community based organizations. She has received many awards and honors for her work including the HOPE Award (Hospital Outstanding Patient Experience) from United Hospital. She is fluent in Spanish.
Mary Beth Witcher, FNP-BC
Mary Beth Witcher, FNP-BC is one of our Family Nurse Practitioners. She holds the great distinction of being Hilltop’s first employee, caring for patients back when Hilltop opened its doors as a free neighborhood clinic. She attended Valparaiso University School of Nursing where she earned both her BSN and MSN and attended the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Mary Beth has been a nurse for more than 20 years. Prior to coming to Hilltop, she held various staff nursing positions at Porter Memorial Hospital as well as working as an educator there. She has also worked as a staff nurse at the VU Health Center and a Village Nurse at Holden Village in Washington. Mary Beth is an active community volunteer, serving with the AIDS Education Advisory Council of the Valparaiso School System and the Open Door Clinic in Michigan City. She has a broad definition of “community” – Mary Beth has gone on “Hearts in Motion” medical missions to Guatemala. Mary Beth says, “I think Hilltop is a wonderful place for a Family Nurse Practitioner. I enjoy working with patients of all ages and stressing the importance of prevention and education.”
Dante Brown, DMD
Dante Brown, DMD, MPH is a Dentist working at the HealthLinc Valparaiso center. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Master of Public Health, and Doctor of Dental Medicine degrees at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Brown serves as an Army Dentist in the Illinois National Guard. Additionally, he maintains memberships with the American Dental Association, National Dental Association, and Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Brown is actively involved in community service and outreach. He enjoys providing education, guidance, and services to disabled, minority and underserved communities.

David C. Reed, DDS
David C. Reed, DDS, is a dentist who practices in HealthLinc’s Valparaiso location. He is also the Dentist and Owner of Dental Image in Crown Point, Indiana. He is a graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, and completed his dental training at Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, Indiana. His experiences include pediatric dentistry, public health outreach programs, and comprehensive care clinics.
Julie Sausman, Dental Hygienist
Dean Webb, DDS
Dean A. Webb, DDS, is a dentist with HealthLinc. Upon completing his Bachelor’s of Science at Valparaiso University, he graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry with his DDS. He worked in the Emergency Department and Oral Surgery at the University of Michigan during breaks. He also served as a Dental Anatomy Instructor, a MiDent Instructor, and with the Check-Up Clinic while at the University of Michigan.
Isaac Zeckel, DDS, MS
Isaac Zeckel, MS, DDS, graduated from Indiana University with a Master’s of Science in Cellular and Integrative Physiology in 2005 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2011. While attending Indiana University, he researched new methods of identifying and classifying caries and developed an electronic training program that is used to teach early caries detection for dental students. Since graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry, Dr. Zeckel has been caring for the oral health needs of HealthLinc patients as a full-time staff dentist. In May 2014, Dr. Zeckel accepted the Dental Director position at HealthLinc and has since been promoted to Chief Dental Officer due to the growth in his department. He strives to continue expanding and improving the dental care patients at HealthLinc receive.
Michael Roach, OD
Michael Roach, O.D., is an Optometrist at our Valparaiso clinic. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Marquette University in Milwaukee before going on to Indiana University School of Optometry.
Dr. Roach has over 25 years of clinical experience in the NW Indiana area, has directed the school vision screening program for the Duneland School System for the past 15 years, and has recently completed his Master’s degree in Health Care Administration from the University of Southern Indiana.
Anand Popli, MD
Anand Popli, MD-P, is a Psychiatrist at our Valparaiso clinic. He received his Bachelor of Science in Intermediate Science at University of Combay, Jai Hind College. Then he went on to earn his M.B.B.S., his Master of Psychological Medicine and his M.D. in Psychiatry at University of Bombay, T.N. Medical College. After completing a wide variety of Fellowships at such universities as Stanford, Syracuse and Harvard, Anand has also had a vast array of appointments with hospitals in the Valparaiso area. He is certified in both Psychiatry and Geriatric Psychiatry.
Lauren Reimink, LCSW
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Lauren Reimink, graduated from Indiana University Northwest with a Masters of Social Work in 2010. Most recently, Lauren worked at Regional Mental Health Center as an Outpatient Intake Therapist. We are pleased to have her on board as one of our contracted BHS providers!
