Valparaiso, Indiana. – February 8 marks the 10th anniversary of the opening of HealthLinc Michigan City located at 710 Franklin Street. The clinic was developed at the request of The Franciscan Alliance, St Anthony Michigan City. The grant for the clinic, received in August of 2007, was part of President Bush’s initiative to have a community health center in the 200 poorest counties in the Nation. In addition to serving the medical, dental and behavioral health needs of the area, the clinic started a revitalization of downtown Michigan City, which is still happening today.
Last year, the clinic saw 6,638 patients and has had 27,252 visits since opening in 2008. Since that first day, the clinic has seen 24,053 patients and over 250,000 medical, dental and behavioral health visits.
“It has been a privilege to be a part of the Michigan City community for the past 10 years,” states Beth Wrobel, HealthLinc CEO. “We are honored that so many have decided to make HealthLinc their medical home, and we look forward to serving the community for many years to come.”
HealthLinc, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), has seven locations stretching from East Chicago to South Bend, Indiana with Cororate Headquarters located in Valparaiso, Indiana. HealthLinc has provided quality health care to communities across Northern Indiana for twenty-one years.
