HealthLinc CEO, Beth Wrobel is featured in the January/February issue of HCI Healthcare Informatics, a digital and print subscription magazine that highlights important technological trends in the healthcare industry.
Wrobel was interviewed by HCI Informatics Managing Editor, Rajiv Leventhal at the HIMSS16 Conference in Las Vegas last month. “It was a great opportunity for me to highlight the progress HealthLinc has made in utilizing technology to enhance our services while staying true to our patient-centered values,” said Wrobel.
HealthLinc was a pioneer in the use of IT in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), being one of the first to use electronic health records (EHRs) and Practice Analytics to understand what the data was revealing. In 2015, HealthLinc engaged Forward Health Group, a valued based population health manager to put patient data at the fingertips of the providers; allowing for deep analysis of the information and a more comprehensive approach to patient services.
“I’m a data driven person,” continued Wrobel, “Having easy access to such a wealth of information has helped to shape the direction and grow the programs we offer at our seven locations and on our mobile unit.”
HealthLinc continues to be at the forefront of the health/tech synergy with its newest endeavor, telehealth. The infrastructure is in place at each of the HealthLinc sites to begin allowing for telehealth consults. Telehealth is a way of using IT to increase contact between the patient and the medical system to improve the health care experience. HealthLinc is currently running a pilot program in behavioral health using the telehealth system. Wrobel has been instrumental in getting the Indiana Legislature to change the rules as to the use of telehealth in the delivery of healthcare services.
