Enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace (Affordable Care Act)
The Health Insurance Marketplace (Affordable Care Act) is a new way to find health coverage that fits your budget and meets your needs.
There are things you can do to get ready to enroll. Here are a few:

HealthLinc’s certified application counselors (CACs) will answer your questions about (and help you enroll in) both the Health Insurance Marketplace and the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0).
CACs provide unbiased, customer support, and personalized help. There is no charge to receive assistance from a certified application counselor.

2. Attend an Enrollment Information Session

3. Visit Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0)
Become familiar with the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0) by visiting http://www.in.gov/fssa/hip. You may also call Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0) directly at (800) 403-0864.
4. Visit Health Insurance Marketplace (Affordable Care Act)
Become familiar with the Health Insurance Marketplace (Affordable Care Act) by visiting HealthCare.gov. There you will be able to find plans and costs specific to your residential locations. You may also call the Marketplace directly at (800) 318-2596.
Please know that many of you will qualify for financial assistance – either through Medicaid, subsidies, or tax credits. Financial assistance is based upon your household income. To estimate your financial assistance, check out the Kaiser Family Foundation’s subsidy calculator at http://kff.org/interactive/subsidy-calculator.
Enrollment Application Checklist
When you apply for coverage in either the Health Insurance Marketplace or the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0), you will need to provide some information about you and your household – including income and health insurance you currently have and some additional items.
Use the checklist below to help you gather what you need to apply for coverage:
- Social security numbers for every member in your household applying for coverage
- Employer and income information for every member of your household applying for coverage (i.e., Pay stubs, W-2 forms)
- Policy numbers for any current health insurance plans covering members of your household
- A completed Employer Coverage tool available at HealthCare.gov (ECT_Application_508_130615.pdf)
